Its customer base — which includes Evotec (nearly 20 years), Charles River Laboratories (renewed 3-year agreement 2023), Tyra Biosciences, Sygnature Discovery, Compounds Australia, and unnamed Japanese pharma and global biopharma companies — reflects a consistent focus on pharma, biopharma, biobank, and CRO environments where sample fidelity is mission-critical.

Pricing

Mosaic does not publish pricing publicly. All pricing is quote-based. The titian.co.uk IT information page links to a blog post on the ROI of sample management LIMS for context, but does not disclose rates. No per-user or per-module prices are confirmed from any source.

The pre-configured package structure — FreezerManagement (entry) and SampleBank (standard) — means labs can scope implementations predictably: the entry package is described as “low-cost” and suitable for single-site inventory tracking, while SampleBank extends into compound management, fulfilment, and automation at a higher price point. Additional modules (Biobanks, Stability, etc.) add further costs.

Labs from small biotech to 13 of the world’s top 20 biopharma companies all use Mosaic, which implies pricing spans a very wide range by implementation scope. A simple FreezerManagement cloud deployment for a small biotech is a fundamentally different pricing conversation from a SampleBank enterprise installation at a global pharma company with 150 automation integrations and multi-site synchronisation.

Who Mosaic is designed for — and who it is not

This is the most critical section for a lab manager making a purchasing decision. Mosaic is a specialist tool. It is exceptional at one thing. Evaluating it against general-purpose LIMS platforms on a feature checklist will produce a misleading result.

Mosaic is the right choice for lab managers who:

• Manage a compound library, biological collection, reagent bank, or biospecimen repository that has more than a few hundred samples and involves multiple scientists requesting, consuming, and returning samples
• Operate in a pharma, biopharma, or biotech environment where 21 CFR Part 11 compliant audit trails for every sample movement are a regulatory requirement, not a nice-to-have
• Have invested in lab automation (liquid handlers, automated stores, acoustic dispensers) and need that automation connected to a central system that writes the audit trail, controls workflows, and updates inventory in real time — without custom scripting
• Run a CRO or compound management facility that needs to manage sample requests from multiple clients, track fulfilment workflows, and maintain data integrity across client projects
• Operate a biobank requiring sample genealogy tracking (aliquots, slides, derivations) and compliance with regulated environments
• Are a large pharma or global biopharma organisation that wants one system for sample management across multiple global sites, with real-time synchronisation and a Mosaic Connector for partner/CRO interoperability

Mosaic is not the right choice for lab managers who:

• Need a system to manage analytical testing workflows, results entry, and CoA generation for a QC or analytical lab — this is traditional LIMS territory (QBench, CloudLIMS, STARLIMS, LabWare serve this need)
• Are primarily looking for an ELN to replace paper notebooks for experiment documentation — Labguru (Cenevo’s companion product), SciSure, or Benchling are better fits
• Are a small academic or research lab that needs a general-purpose lab notebook with basic inventory management — Mosaic’s implementation complexity and pricing exceed what a small academic lab needs for general inventory
• Need transparent, published pricing with a self-service sign-up path — Mosaic requires direct commercial engagement and a scoped implementation, not unlike enterprise software in any category
• Need an immediate deployment timeline — Mosaic implementations with automation integration require professional services, hardware connectivity testing, and ITIL-framework support onboarding

What users say — and the evidence base

Mosaic does not have a verified G2 or Capterra profile with meaningful user reviews. Searching G2 for “Mosaic” returns Mosaic Tech (a financial planning software company), not Titian/Cenevo’s product. Titian/Cenevo does not appear to participate in software review aggregator platforms. This is consistent with the product’s enterprise, specialist positioning: its buyers are compound management leads, CRO LabOps teams, and IT directors at global pharma companies — not the self-service SaaS buyers who populate G2 review pages.

For lab managers, this means independent validation relies entirely on: named customer references (documented above), vendor case studies, SelectScience application notes, and direct reference calls with existing customers. The evidence base available is nonetheless strong by pharma industry standards:

• Evotec SE (named, 20-year relationship): Michael Jobling of Evotec is named in the LinkedIn video testimonial discussing why Evotec has used Mosaic for nearly 20 years. A 20-year continuous relationship at a major CRO is the most compelling evidence of sustained satisfaction available in this category.
